Dear Novii Support, Thanks for your help and interest.
I have an old Palm OS Tungsten E. My living room is about 25 feet long and the TV is about 20 feet from my chair. I have Directv, a Toshiba 61in. TV, a Sony DVD, and a Pioneer AC3 audio amplifier. The Palm works well on a full charge. I get about 27 feet away and turn the Palm on it\'s side and it still controls the Directv Box.
I also just got a Palm TX but haven\'t tried to work with it yet. I hope this helps your research.

If There Ever Was a Reason to Drink a Lot...
http://palmaddict.typepad.com/palmaddicts/2007/11/if-there-ever-w.html
Last week I went to a swanky restaurant. In the washrooms they have 12\" LCD TVs mounted above the urinals. The TVs were installed in a recessed alcove, with a plexiglass cover so that no one could tamper with the TVs. I TV I was at had the football game on, but I wasn\'t interested in it. I wasn\'t going to be at the urinal for very long, perhaps two minutes tops, but I couldn\'t resist using my Palm TX to change the channel. Before I unzipped I pulled out my TX and launched NoviiRemote. I installed the codebase for the Sharp TV, and within 30 seconds I was changing the channel. Once I found a show I liked, I began to do my business. It\'s funny, I spent thre minutes changing the channel to find something interesting to watch while I did my business for less than a minute. Oh well, I guess it gave me a good reason to have a drink, and then another, and then another...

The maximum distance is about 3 meters. I am using a Palm Centro.
It used to be more on my passed away Palm T3. I guess this is an issue of the Centro, however, not the software. I have read somewhere that the range of the infrared is very limited on Centro. But I can happily live with a 3 meters distance.
